Our Journey Began..
The house was built in 1880 by world famous architect William Critchlow Harris, who designed many beloved churches throughout Atlantic Canada. It was the cherished home of Doctor McLean and his family. Doctor McLean ran his doctors office out of the house for many years. During World War II many patients were seen, and even recovered within its walls.
Over the years, This once breathtaking home fell into disrepair. That is until 2016, when It was rescued by Cheryl Chambers and her family. Cheryl is known for having lovingly restored the Chambers house on King Street, which is now Chambers Guest House Bed and Breakfast.
We had our work cut out for us! But with a lot of Love, sweat and tears, the home became beautiful once more!

Why The Sleeping Swan?
It's in our blood! The Sleeping Swan is named in memory of our late father and grandfather, George Swan and our ancestor Anna Swan, The Nova Scotia Giantess.
